When will I receive my 1099?
1099s are mailed to your address on file on January 31 of each year. Please allow 10 business days to receive your 1099 by mail.

I received very few division order payments. Will I receive a 1099?
You should expect to receive a 1099 if your total payments are:

  • Royalties (Box 2) – $10 or greater
  • Gross working interests – $600 or greater

Why doesn’t EnLink Midstream mail 1099s for corporate entities?
The IRS does not require EnLink Midstream to issue a 1099 for corporate entities unless gross working interests are $600 or more. 1099s can be requested at 432-682-8555 or PermianBasinDOI@enlink.com.

How do I request a new 1099?
Contact our AP department at ap@enlink.com.

My address has changed, and I did not receive my 1099. How do I request a new one?
The change of address form is available on our website. Once you return change of address form, a new 1099 will be sent to your new address.

The amount in Box 2 does not equal what I received. Why?
EnLink Midstream is required to report gross division order payment amounts to the IRS. The amount of your division order payments equals the gross amount minus related deductions and state severance taxes. The amount of your division order payments should be equal to the net amount (in the upper right-hand portion).

Net Amount = Gross Amount (Box 2) - Other Deductions - Taxes

The net amount does not equal what I received. How do I get the details?
If the net amount does not equal the division order payments that you received, then you can request your 1099 details by calling 432-682-8555.

I received my December division order payments in January. Why is it on my 1099?
The IRS uses the “constructive receipt” doctrine. Because the December division order payments were issued in December, the amount is appropriately included on the 1099, even if you received the check in January.

I had an outdated division order payments check from the previous year that was reissued in the current year. I have already reported that amount in the original year it was issued. How do I ensure that the amount will not be reported in the current year?
We make every attempt to exclude these amounts from your current-year 1099. In the event you think we have made an error, please contact us at 432-682-8555 or PermianBasinDOI@enlink.com.

Can you withhold federal taxes from my payments?
EnLink Midstream does not withhold federal taxes unless required by statute.

What are the other deductions, and where do I put them on my tax form?
Other deductions include your share of expenses incurred to make the products marketable, the cost of transport to market, and state severance taxes assessed on production. EnLink Midstream is not able to provide any tax advice and encourages all owners to seek proper tax assistance in preparing their returns.
